Alternative titleGold Coast College of Advanced EducationDescriptionOur Gold Coast campus began as the Gold Coast College of Advanced Education (GCCAE). The College was established in December of 1985 and was originally located at a former Surfers Paradise State School site. Teaching began in February of 1987 with ninety-five foundation students undertaking a Bachelor of Business course. By 1988, student numbers had grown to four hundred and twenty which included for the first time - ninety part-time students. By the late 1980's, the Australian Government had decided that there were too many individual tertiary institutions across the country and set about an agenda of forced amalgamations.
